Four Tops Lead Singer Levi Stubbs Dead at 72

Another legend leaves us today.  Levi Stubbs, lead singer of the Four Tops, has passed away at the age of 72.  The Four Tops were a legendary Motown group, unique not just for their era-defining sound, but also for being one of the few groups to survive almost five decades with all of the original members.  I shudder to think what popular music would have looked like if this one group of four men had never existed.  Their music defined a sound that would go on to define a massive movement in rock and R&B, influencing countless bands and genres that followed them.

RIP, Levi.  You gave this world some of the best music that it has ever heard.  Thank you for the gift.
