If I had more time and money, I might consider purchasing this. Released in 2007, Rolling Stone Cover to Cover: The First 40 Years, is a four DVD set that contains page for page every single issue of the magazine from the first 40 years of its publication, ads and all, as well as a hardcover companion book containing stories and photos. Lots of history there, and I’m sure some good reads as well. It would also be very interesting to track the evolution of the magazine from a serious source of rock journalism to the less than stellar rag that it has become today. Unfortunately for me, money is tight, but if you are interested in making this purchase, I would definitely recommend getting it today from Woot.com.
If you are not familiar with Woot.com’s whole schtick, they basically have one discounted item for sale every 24 hours, beginning at midnight and ending at midnight the next day. Assuming this item does not sell out, it will be available on their website until midnight tonight. They are selling it for $39.99, which is $32.76 less than the asking price of $72.75 on Amazon.com, so it is a decent bargain. Thought I’d share.
**UPDATE: Offer expired. No Rolling Stone for you! Unless paying full price is your bag**
